An 11-year-old boy’s tragic death has prompted his mother to warn other parents about a dangerous social media trend known as “chroming.” Freddie Davis, who lived in East London, was found unresponsive in his bedroom on January 20, 2025, after inhaling fumes from a deodorant can. The act, often encouraged in online challenges, involves breathing in aerosol vapors to experience a short-lived high. Freddie’s mother, Roseanne Thompson, later learned about the trend and said she had even stopped buying spray deodorants for her son after discovering how risky they could be.
