Donald Trump says he may scrap parts of the Freedom 250 celebration after several performers have withdrawn, proposing a large MAGA rally instead.Donald Trump has suggested replacing planned Freedom 250 concerts with a political rally after a wave of artist withdrawals.
The celebrations, tied to America’s upcoming 250th anniversary, have faced turbulence after several musicians backed out, with some claiming they were unaware of the event’s political ties.
Some performers still remain attached to the event, including Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida, although questions remain about the final lineup and format of the Freedom 250 celebrations.
Various artists pull out
Reports say artists including Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, The Commodores and Young MC distanced themselves from the concerts, with some describing the event as more politically charged than they had expected.
Trump has now responded in a lengthy Truth Social post, criticizing performers who had dropped out and suggesting he could take their place.
“We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY, for 250, instead of having overpriced singers, who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring, and yet who do nothing but complain,” Trump wrote.
He also floated canceling the concert series altogether.
“Cancel it,” Trump added, while tying the dispute to his ongoing frustration over the Kennedy Center legal battle.
Trump compared himself to Elvis
Trump went further by suggesting he could personally headline the celebration.
“I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime,” Trump wrote, referring to himself.
He later described himself as “THE GOAT” and proposed an “AMERICA IS BACK Rally” in place of some live performances.
